ABOUT

Jacob Posega was born and raised in the rural Upper Peninsula of Michigan where the four radio stations played country, classic rock, and classic to modern rock and metal, and pop from the 80's to present day respectively.

After gravitating towards rock music, he picked up the electric bass and began playing in his high school jazz band. Without Youtube or the money for lessons, he used actual paper books and materials collected from the internet to learn how to play the bass.

Music has long been his primary passion, though his BA in Cultural Anthropology was completed part-time at four different universities spanning both peninsulas of Michigan, South Carolina, and New York, after a detour that included dropping out and eventually realizing how much working foodservice sucked.

Jacob earned his BA in Cultural Anthropology as well as an MA in Audio Arts with music industry and studio recording foci from Syracuse University in 2017.

He is currently a PhD candidate at Queen's University Belfast in Northern Ireland. He is now based in Los Angeles, CA as he focuses on his dissertation research.

Jacob is a fretted and fretless electric bass player versed in most styles. He plays four, five, and six string basses, and employs a variety of effects pedals, some of which he assembled himself.

He seeks to emulate legendary bass players like Leland Sklar, Tony Levin, Pino Palladino, James Jamerson, and all those bass greats that came before. As a bass player, his goal is to be able to play whatever style is needed, while always serving the song.

Jacob is available for gigs, live and remote sessions, voiceover work, and is always on the lookout for new music to mix.

He’s also an eccentric cat person, vegan, sci-fi aficionado, tea enthusiast, and diehard Bruce Campbell fan.
